1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Alongside them, we use similar technologies such as localStorage (the browser's local storage) and tracking pixels. In this policy, we refer to all of these as "cookies". The site owner is SYRIUS CAPITAL LLC (see Legal Notice).

2. What types we use

2.1. Essential (always active)

Essential for the site and Platform to work: keeping you signed in, remembering your language, protecting forms against bots, and remembering your own cookie choice. They don't require consent because the service cannot be provided without them.

2.2. Functional and attribution

First-party cookies that remember preferences (visual theme) and, if you arrive from a campaign or affiliate link, which link you came from, to correctly attribute the signup. They contain no browsing data from other sites.

2.3. Product analytics (only while signed in)

Within the Platform we use PostHog to understand usage, detect errors, and improve the product, with session recording that masks all text fields. It doesn't apply to anonymous visitors of the public site, and you can turn it off in your account settings.

2.4. Advertising (Meta Ads and Google Ads), only with your consent

When we launch advertising campaigns, we may use Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google pixels to measure conversions and optimize campaigns. These pixels only load if you accept non-essential cookies in the consent banner. If you choose "Only necessary", they won't load.

4. Managing consent

On your first visit, we show a banner with two options: "Accept all" (analytics and advertising cookies are also allowed) or "Only necessary" (only first-party essential and functional cookies). Your choice is stored in your browser and you can change it whenever you like:

You can also:

  • Turn off product analytics (PostHog) from your account settings.
  • Delete or block cookies from your browser settings (note that blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in).

5. Third-party cookies and transfers

Some cookies are set by third parties (PostHog, Cloudflare, and, where applicable, Meta and Google) that may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the provider is certified, by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, as detailed in the Privacy Policy.

6. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy whenever the cookies we use change (for example, when we activate advertising pixels). The current version will always be on this page along with its update date. Questions: contact@firststone.vc.
